About Ryda Gård

Ryda is an old-fashioned hamlet where the houses were built in a row, as in Astrid Lindgren’s Bullerbyn. The farm is situated by the big lake Åsunden with a fabulous view over the lake. High mountains, large forests and meadows around the farm offer great nature adventures.

Bathe

The best place for bathing is from our pier down at Åsunden, only 200 m from the houses. From the pier there is a ladder into the water and in the summer we put garden furniture, complete with cushions and parasols, on the pier. This place is most suitable for grown ups and somewhat older children, who can swim, as here the lake gets deep quickly and the bottom of the lake is stony.
If you prefer to have a bathing bay all to yourself, you can hire a boat and get out to any of the small islands in archipelago like environment of Åsunden to sunbathe and swim.
At the lake Björkern, on the outskirts of Björksfors approximately 4 km from Ryda farm, there is a sandy beach, pier and diving tower, more suitable for families with small children. The water temperature in Åsunden and Björkern usually reaches 20-22ºC during the summer months.

Sauna

After a fishing or hunting trip during the cooler months it usually feels good to warm yourself up in the sauna. The sauna is situated in the areas for common use on the ground floor of Lillstugan. There are seats for 6-8 people and next to the sauna are showers and WC.
